Leadership

One of the more popular reasons that people avoid churches these days is due to distrust and suspicion of the church leaders. I get that. It’s a crazy world we live in. Trustworthiness runs pretty rare these days. So what did I do about it?

First, I had to make sure that I myself was legit. How did I do that? Accountability. I surrounded myself with people who wouldn’t blow smoke up my skirt. I don’t run with “yes men.” The brothers in my life tell me like it is, call my bluff, and aren’t easily impressed. They hold me accountable. Not to mention the person that keeps me grounded the most… my wife. Thank God for her.

Then, I chose the most honest and authentic team I could find; people with integrity as a spine. I pitched to them the idea that God had put in my soul about this church. I told them to pray about joining me. They dared to ask God if this was his plan for their lives as well. I’m so glad they asked him that question!

This is the best team I’ve seen assembled in any church scenario. We’re not perfect. We’re still learning. We’re definitely not impressed with ourselves. We really are in this line of work for the right reasons. We want to help. We’re here to serve. We’re not afraid of hard work.

We look forward to doing life with you, in the awesome name of Jesus.
