STATEMENT OF FAITH / THE OLD ROMAN CREED:

We believe in God the Father Almighty and in Christ His only son our Lord, who was born of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary.  Crucified under Pontius Pilate and buried; the third day He rose from the dead.  He ascended into Heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father, from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.  And in the Holy Spirit; the holy Church; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the flesh.

HOW WE VIEW THE BIBLE:

The Bible is God’s Word to humanity. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.  It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.  Because it is inspired by God it is the truth without any mixture of error or contradiction.

HOW WE VIEW SALVATION:

Salvation is God’s free offering of full pardon and complete acceptance.  This gift, however, is not a one-way thing.  In order for it to work in one’s life, it must be accepted…as it is with any gift.  Salvation removes the burden of humanity’s attempt to make up for its sin by self-improvement or good works.  Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn away from our self-ruled life and surrender to Jesus in faith, we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment a person trusts Jesus Christ for his salvation.
