Liz,

Thank you for this powerful message.This is so profound and I thank you for sharing this key foundation for our lives. God wants us to come to him willing to be vulnerable and seeking him with a passion. To genuinely want Him. To love on Him and let Him love on us.

Blessings, Pam

This is an awesome piece. I love the way you presented the ties with Eden and the joyous representation it can be in our lives. Awesome series to read about as well. Although I am not a husband or father yet, I consider it a tremendous blessing to see and witness what biblical manhood truly is before experiencing it first hand. Praying for you and your church, and hope to come visit this fall. Thanks Uncle Clintard :)

That was awesome Liz....in truth, God is the only one who knows the truth, and although it sometimes hurts to be human, there is a greater plan....The laws of our land have spoken in this case, so we are no longer in a position to judge. Hate binds you to the hated:}

Dude!!!! This couldn't be more true!!! In the past several months we have found the love of a family (being The Waters church) and to us it means the WORLD! If you imagine every definition of the word 'home' that is what it feels like each and every time we fellowship with our church family! It feels like being at home, with people who don't judge us, condemn us, and who just plain love us...and I gotta say, the feeling is mutual! Keep it rockin brother!!!!

and this verse seems appropriate - in some sense
Ephesians 2:19-22 (The Message)

19-22That's plain enough, isn't it? You're no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You're no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He's using us all irrespective of how we got here in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he's using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day ”a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home.

Dude - love ya back! The culture at our church is so unique, and amazing. This place... it promotes change in me, in spite of my protestations! Seriously, after approaching nearly a year of coming, it is just "different" and in all the right ways.

God bless each and every single one of you guys. And I CANNOT echo your sentiments on Brad Graves enough...

I attended your block party with my 4 year old granddaughter yesterday evening and it was very nice. Thank you so much for proving such an enjoyable time for the neighborhood. I asked around about who to thank but no one knew anyone specific to direct me to. However, I did have one small issue and I'm sure it is just my own issue but when I asked a chirch member what doctrine was taught in your church I was asked what doctrine meant. However, the evening was wonderful and thank you agin.

Humility, humbleness, love are just a few of the characteristics that Jesus poseses that all Christians shall poses. We were showed this humility, humbleness and love from God through one of many God's servant, obedient families. We were treated like true Royalty, we were treated like what we are; children of God. Today we carry that legacy given on to us by God. Although we are not perfect and maybe we will never be, we are so greatful to God that He has shown us to see His children through His eyes and not ours. The love and mercy that Jesus our Lord and savior has shown us, through the guidence and teaching of the Holy Spirit , we can now feel and show that same love, although sometimes not easy, we continue trying to maintain our obedience and total submission of our will to His will. We give God all the Praise and Honor because in Him we can see you and your family for what you truly are, just the same way God sees you:
1 Peter 2:9 (New American Standard Bible)

9But you are (A)A CHOSEN RACE, A royal (B)PRIESTHOOD, A (C)HOLY NATION, (D)A PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you (E)out of darkness into His marvelous light;

Hello, my parents go to this church heard nothing but wonderful things. I'm currently living in Hawaii, my husband is in the army he has been stationed here. My father told me about the eden marriage project over the phone and he told me to to get on line and go to podcast to listen to the ministries.

My husband and I been going through marriage problems. We have been married for 4 years, we are still very much in love with each other but we have became very distant as well. We have tried marriage counseling. We tried just living through whatever is going on. I've have gotten to the point that I blamed my husband for falling away from God not having that relationship with God which i know is not his fault. But the i listened to your ministries and i told my husband that this was our counseling, that this is what we need and we have been listening and i know that things will change. My husband is enjoying listening! He is actually listening, lol, and I know this will bring a change for my family. Thank you!

Loved this discussion this week! I've been thinking about it every day since Sunday. I know that I'm naturally forgetful, so a long time ago I established a routine where every time I pray, I thank God. A routine can easily lose the heart, to where all I'm doing is saying the words without meaning them, and I have definitely fallen into that rut several times in the past. I find what keeps my gratitude fresh is getting into God's word daily. No matter what I'm reading in the Bible, I find fresh reasons to thank God. As you reminded us on Sunday, Angela, even the ability to thank and praise God is a gift He gave us! So, by making sure I'm in His word and reminding myself every day of how big He is and how little I am, I can't help but be in a constant state of gratitude.

I'm going to go ahead and agree with both of you. I've been leading worship for a long time and can understand EVERY point of view. I've pretty much heard it all; from "i didn't get anything" to "yall should try this". As worship leaders/ lead worshipers it's OUR job to break open the heart's of our congregation, in order to prepare them to hear God's Word. Any criticism, whether constructive or not, should and will always be welcome. As a musician I've been down a long road. Yet when it comes to playing Worship music, I've NEVER found ANYTHING more fulfilling. When I'm playing music to our Father, I am overwhelmed with a passion that I can't explain. I get chills that I can't explain. I feel WHOLE in ways thats I can't explain. I cry out to God with every bead of sweat that I have, and He always says "I Love you too son", "Good job on the eggs" Lol. That is what my worship does for me. Everyone is different, yet I'm privleged to be a part of this great band and am humbled to be a lead worshiper with them. I would encourage ANY person who reads any of this to leave a comment. WE NEED TO KNOW WHAT OUR FELLOW WORSHIPERS THINK!!! I can't wait, as always, to rock the Fire that burns in my chest on Sunday!!

Awesome word Carmen!! I completely agree with you. Let me clarify a bit. I definitely think we are talking about the same thing, but in a slightly different direction. What I am speaking to is coming to God with the pure intentions, that the bottom line in worship and praise to God is that just telling God how much I love Him absolutely should be enough for me. What you are talking to, which is a very valid point is, the amazing blessings that we receive from that worship experience. I definitely do not want to come off sounding like, if you get something out of worship then there is something wrong with that. Like Aaron said, anything extra is just the icing on the cake. To speak to your point about fine tuning. You bet. If there is something that we are doing as the worship leaders, that is causing someone to not be able to worship, come and tell us. Nobody should be beyond reproach, and that absolutely applies to the band.

Awesome comments guys. Keep up the chatter!!

This is a great point to touch on, Jordan. I understand what you're saying, but do and do not agree. I, too, have been part of music worship for many years. But just as if a pastor were to mis-quote the bible: That would mess up my worship during the sermon. That thought would then be forefront on my mind and I would have to bring myself back to the message to take from it what I should. The same applies to music. In the times that people have come to me and said they did not get anything out of worship and I questioned why, I found it as an excellent sounding board to improve something. It was usually something that affected many people after asking around, but only one came to me to voice what they felt. In the end, we were able to fine-tune some things and make worship better for everyone. Worship, whether in praise, music or sermon, SHOULD be something that you can take from. Just as telling someone something positive should make you feel as good as it does them. It's a natural effect-human nature. (Sorry, there's my analytical mind at work...) It's different for everyone, but I can totally understand, from a standpoint of someone singing in the congregation, how awesome it is to be able to make that connection with God during worship. For me, that is just as important as the sermon because it's where I BEGIN talking to God about everything I forgot or didn't handle well during the week. For example: I Am Free-reminds me to not beat myself up for a situation that I could have handled better, but to make ammends and handle it better in the future; How Great is Our God-reminds me that no matter what hardships I have endured, God is there to hold and comfort me and at times, open my eyes to how I may better a situation. Personally I DO need to take from worship-in all forms-. Being at The Waters on Sunday helps me to have a more Christian walk during the week, if that makes any sense. However, you're right. It should not be the final factor in anyone's experience at Church. I LOVE Current and all it brings to The Waters Church and look forward to seeing it blossom and grow!

Like you both Aaron and Jordan stated - it is not really what we receive, but what we GIVE...

Great insight, Jordan. The way I see it, when I tell my wife I love her, I do it out of the love that spills over for her. However, when I say those words to her, USUALLY, I get a "I love you too". I don't say it just to get that response, but getting that response fills my cup too.

I think thats what happens on Sunday morning. We walk in, with all the crap going on in our lives, and we put all that aside for relatively few minutes of our day, and just tell God how much we are in love with Him. The natural response from God is, "You know what son, I love you too". Feeling that response from God is a HUGE part of worship.

I think you're on the mark; we ought not go into Worship thinking about what we can get, but it ought to be a pure expression of our feelings toward God. Any response we get back is just icing on the cake!

What a great word from Jack. We are beyond excited, but not surprised at how God is at work at the Waters, and we commit to pray, as never before, for all who are thirsty and who will come to find Christ at the Seven Oaks location. We stand with you in every way. "The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of His bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands." Deut. 28:12 Prepare for rain! Love you, Mom and Dad

Clint - I am thrilled to see the vision coming alive in Katy. Let me know how I can help. If you need any graphic design, logo development, art pieces - just say so.

I attend Bent Tree Bible in Carrollton/Plano (Pete Briscoe is Senior Pastor). I love to see a vision coming alive for God's people. I serve on the Worship Arts group and assist churches in their visual efforts.
