Oasis Bunko Night – May 25th

The Oasis Women’s Ministry will be having a Bunko night on Friday, May 25th (7:00 p.m.)  at Brit Walsh’s house.

If you weren’t able to attend the last Bunko event, you truly missed out.  The event was at Brad Graves house.  He and his family actually left the house to the women for a night of fun… and there was a lot of fun to be had!!!  Screams of “BUNKO!!!” were filling the air along with the large amounts of laughter.

Plan on attending if you like to have fun with the girls!!!!  The party will start at 7:00 p.m.

Bring your favorite snack food.

Please note there will be a $5 charge to help cover the cost of paper goods and prizes.

We look forward to seeing you there!

PLACE Class May 26th and 27th

PLACE is a program designed to help Christians find their “Place” within the ministry.  After becoming a member of The Waters church we ask that you attend a PLACE workshop.  It combines your unique personality profile with your particular skills, passions and life experiences to help identify the ways in which you can serve where you’ll be happiest, the most fulfilled and the most effective!  The next PLACE class is scheduled for May 26th and 27th.  It is a 2 day workshop to be held at the Waters Church on Saturday then continuing after church on Sunday (location to be determined).

The class is a lot of fun but it is a workshop… so if you’d like to sign up, please be prepared to attend all of both sessions.  There will be a $20 cost to cover meals and materials, which you’ll keep when the class is finished.

Space is limited so please sign up today on the form listed below.  If you are signing up you and your spouse, please list both names.

Meals for the Fleak’s

Waves is heading up a drive to provide meals for the Fleak family while Madison is in the hospital waiting for a heart transplant. The idea behind this is to have individual frozen meals for Tabitha and Austin to take to the hospital with them.  Very important: all meals must be gluten free. Click here for some gluten free meal ideas. Even more ideas here!

There will be someone at the Fleak home every other Saturday from 12pm to 1pm to accept meals.  We would like to have 8-10 people signed up for each slot listed below (feel free to sign up for multiple weeks). When you sign up for a date, Melissa will let you know where to take the meals.

This family has been in our hearts and in our prayers for many weeks now.  Let’s make some waves and bless their socks off!

Oasis Women’s Retreat This Weekend

Ladies get ready for an amazing weekend.  This weekend the Oasis Women’s Ministry will be having a retreat at the Cat Springs Retreat with speaker Dana Miller.  It is going to be amazing.  Here is the information for those that are going but may have misplaced your retreat information packet.

The Oasis Women’s Retreat will be held April 20 – 22, 2012 at the Cat Spring Retreat Center located at 14852 Hall Road, Cat Spring, Texas  78933.   Below is the information needed for the weekend.

Emphasis:  The Cat Spring Retreat is a non-profit Christian retreat center.

Parking:  All vehicles are to be parked in the designated parking area.  No cars may be driven to cabins.

Cabins:  Women must furnish their own towels and bedding.  A sleeping bag works well since there are twin and double beds.  Please do NOT sleep directly on mattress.  In order to prevent an invasion of insects, no food is allowed in the cabins.  Also for your safety, TCSR would ask that you NOT sit on the porch rails.

Meals:  Meals will be served at times listed on Agenda.  There is also a dorm size refrigerator and microwave for your use in the café.  You may want to bring your own sodas and snacks.

Waterfront / Rock Pool:  There is no lifeguard on duty.  Swimming is allowed in the rock pool as well as in the lake.

First Aid:  The Waters is responsible for providing first aid and contacting emergency care, emergency transportation and trained medical personnel as needed.  Neither TCSR nor The Waters Church is liable for any illness, injury or medical care.

Activities:  TCSR has the following activities available:  volleyball, basketball, softball, canoeing, swimming, hiking trails and campfires.  Necessary recreational items (basketball, softball, paddles, etc) will be provided.  Please bring your own baseball gloves if desired.

Prohibitions:

  • Fireworks are prohibited at The Cat Spring Retreat
  • Only God can make a tree or an animal so no trees are to be defaced or chopped down and no animals maimed or killed.  YES THIS INCLUDES SNAKES.
  • No profanity, immoral conduct of any nature, or immodest dress will be allowed
  • No illegal drugs shall be permitted on the premises nor shall anyone who is under the influence of either drugs or alcohol be allowed on the premises.  TCSR reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.
  • No pets allowed
  • Because of fire hazards, no campfires or fires of any nature are permitted, except scheduled campfires facilitated by TCSR staff.
  • Because of fire hazards, SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED IN OR AROUND ANY BUILDINGS OR FOREST AREAS.  Smoking is permitted ONLY in the parking lot.  Please place cigarette butts in the parking lot’s black trashcan.
  • Feminine products and paper towels MAY NOT be flushed down the toilets because of the septic system.

Departure:   Please take bagged trash and place outside cabin door.  Please sweep out all cabins used by your groups.  Please sweep the Big Barn.  If any damage has been incurred to the property or facility, the Oasis Women’s group will be held responsible.
