God put on our hearts last year the idea of taking His Love and making it real and tangible for the people around us and this is what this ministry is all about. We want to do what we can to help out people around us by doing things like fixing up their homes or doing yard work (community acts of kindness).
Many of the projects have been lead by the churches Life Groups but we want all church members to know they are invited. If you aren’t already a member of a life group this is a great opportunity to check out the groups, see what they are like. If you aren’t a member of a Life Group and know someone in need, please let us know as well.
We’ve had lots of success so far with helping with some of the older members with yard work and such. Right now we have the opportunity to help out a family that is very near and dear to The Waters church family. The family is the Fleaks. They have a little girl, Madison, that is almost 2 years old. Madison is in need of a heart transplant. Her parents basically live at the hospital and will continue until a heart is found for this precious little one. The Waves ministry has been coordinating an effort to provide frozen meals for the family to take to the hospital with them. This initiative has been extended through May and will probably continue much longer. As long as we have volunteers coming forward, we will continue the effort.
